The Dragon's Heart Hospital is the field hospital built within the Principality Stadium in the heart of Cardiff, Wales. It was built with a 2000 bed capacity in response to the Covid-19 Coronavirus Pandemic in preparation for the possibility that the Welsh National Health Service might be overwhelmed.
The Cardiff and the Vale University Health Board and the Cardiff and Vale Health Charity commissioned a set of drawings to record in art the incredible facility and the work that was carried out inside by frontline NHS staff and contractors.
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board recognise the importance of the creative arts. The arts can, and do, have a hugely positive effect, improving the lives and the experiences of patients, service users, carers, visitors and staff, as well as those who work in the arts themselves. Arts for Health for Wellbeing work is based on a growing body of evidence that shows art can have a hugely positive impact on the lives of patients.
This print is available in two sizes. 50% of all the profits will go directly to the Arts for Health and Wellbeing Fund regardless of which version or sizer you purchase. Thank You!
